The Official History of Eros Day (August 14th)

Eros Day - August the 14th

The Eros Day story goes something like this…

In the beginning there was only chaos. Then out of the void appeared Night and Erebus, the unknowable place where death dwells. All else was empty, silent, endless, darkness. Then “SOMEHOW” Love (Eros) was born bringing a start of order.

From Love came Light and Day. Once there was Light and Day, Gaea, the earth appeared, after that a lot of wondrous things happened in-between but eventually a momentous final challenge to Zeus’s rule was made by the Giants. They even went so far as to attempt to invade Mount Olympus, piling mountain upon mountain in an effort to reach the top. But, the gods had grown strong and with the help of Hercules the Giants were subdued or killed.

The Gods decided to celebrate their victory with an even more momentous party. It was such a memorable event that all invited vowed to return to Mount Olympus on the same day, August 14th, every year… And there you have it… Eros Day, the most romantic day in the known cosmos was born.

To mark the occasion, apart from attending the party of course, we have run a competition every year from 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 through to 2014.
